6th Grade Science - Mr. Krumm » Welcome

Welcome to Mr. Krumm's 6th grade science class website!

I have been teaching middle school science since 2001. I started out at Penrose (when they had a middle school), spent one year at Canon city Middle School, and then moved over to Harrison K-8 school when it opened.

Teaching is a passion for me.  I truly enjoy helping middle school students learn about science, grow as students and individuals, as well as prepare for high school and beyond!

6th grade science in our district covers the range of science content from the Colorado science standards, as well as general science processes and procedures. We will work on how to conduct experiments and general scientific processes. Beyond that, we will learn about atoms, molecules, phases of matter, and physical properties in the realm of physical sciences. In the earth sciences, we will learn about Earth's structure, processes that affect its surface, the water cycle, and natural resources. In life sciences, we will learn about how environmental conditions affect survival of organisms and the flow of energy and matter through ecosystems.

We will start the year dealing some with class room procedures, how our brains change as we learn, scientific process (doing experiments) and matter (atoms, elements, molecules, etc.)!
